Laila Wah, a Bucks County artist, creates organic Feng Shui art. Selected work enhances a particular gua, such as the wealth corner. A piece of art depicting water enriches the wealth section.
Collage is the media choice. All works are synergistic and inter-communicative. Compositions may be created with handmade paper, graphics, photographs, watercolor, botanical specimens, gold leaf, fabric; some work is done with oil on canvas. Poetry is often woven into the creation.
There are two main genres: one group composes Elements of Nature, sea, sun, earth and the season. Another focus uses portraits enclosed in a collage setting.
I am especially fond of collage. Pieces fit together. From this seemingly random movement, comes form and pattern. The end result is something whole and magical. The principles which direct my art and govern the thematic material from which I design is Beauty, Harmony and Balance. These are the same principles which govern the best Feng Shui.
